I went to UCR for two years and recieved a GPA. Due to various circumstances I dropped out then joined the army. I am out now and seeing how I have four years payed for want to go to a better school, specifically USC.

My plan is to go to CC for a year or so and then transfer. My wory ethic now doesn't reflect the 2.5 and I am worried it might hold me back. If I transfer the credits from UCR to a CC does the GPA come along with it or just the credits?

I know its sort of an obscure question, but really? No one has an answer?

I was in the same position just a few months ago. It does affect your GPA :(

I’ve read and been told that your GPA doesn’t transfer over when you switch schools, only the credits. I was in the same situation as you to an extent, finished my first year with a horrible 2.575. I’m going to CC my second year and am thankful that I’ll be able to start ‘fresh’, hopefully I’m able to get a 4.0 so that I can go to the school I want.
