The prompt is: Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud, and how does it relate to the person you are?

Basically, I have a passion for technology, but I also am known for my sense of compassion (thats what my friends and teachers tell me). Is it ok if I discuss my achievements in technology and then state that "I also have a strong sense of compassion" and then tell me stories of volunteering, etc.?

Or is that not allowed? I really want to talk about two of those things, but I'm concerned because the prompt says Tell us about a personal quality...not 2.

I'm almost positive that's a no no. it's too much to talk about 2 topics in 1 essay, unless they really connect somehow i guess. but in your case they don't.
Put one as your first prompt? Or additional info? (although i have no clue if you can put essay format stuff in there..)

I agree, one quality. Perhaps if you showed compassion and volunteered in a technological related field, you could brush upon your technological aptitude, other than that I would try to keep it unique, and certainly not bluntly state that you "also have a strong sense of compassion".

ur focus on ur essay should be narrowed on one topic. i agree with the above post. u can talk about how either school, ur home, etc, has influenced ur love of technology for the first essay. for the second u can talk about compassion as a quality
