I’m looking at UIUC as a school that interests me, but it’s kind of confusing. I’ve read that the individual engineering school is different, and harder to get into than UIUC based on acceptance rates. How would I go about applying only to the engineering school, since I don’t want to go to the college for anything else.
I might have this completely skewed, so help me
https://admissions.illinois.edu/FAQ/second-choice-major is probably what you want to read.
Note that you apply to a specific major, not just the engineering division.
Oh, so if I wanted to apply for electrical engineering I would apply specifically for it , and if if I didn’t make it could just walk away?
Yes. You do apply to specific major. However, they may still admit you as undecided engineering if you not get accepted by the major but they still want you. Have you checked their cost for you? Don’t expect much, if any, financial aid from them.
