How hard does this class get? what grades do people usually get?

I’m actually curious about the same thing, it seems to be a very talked about required class.

I didn’t find it bad at all. You do have class to class assignments but they aren’t that long. You will analyze the deeper meaning of essays, and then as you progress you will go deeper and deeper until you somehow connect those meanings to their larger implications. It’s actually pretty interesting and you get to choose your authors and works to base your own essays off of. You write 3 main essays and a bunch of small assignments. I took David Ellis who allowed a rewrite for one essay and he was really helpful. I often wrote my small homeworks in the minutes before entering the class door so it’s not hard but you really have to get your large essays proofread and crystal. I’m a finance/econ major so I really don’t have any major connection towards that field. I got an A-, although I didn’t rewrite my lowest essay otherwise it could have been an A I suppose.
