Transfer student: writing the essay credit?

<p>Hi,
I recently got admitted to Stern as a sophomore transfer.
On my credit evaluation sheet, my English 1 (expository writing) course is assigned 4 credits as "Business & Its Publics: Inquiry & Discourse" instead of "Writing the Essay."
I took English 2 (freshmen writing seminar) this semester at my current university.
Do you know whether my english 2 class will count as "Writing the Essay"?
I have heard that this class is very difficult and often hurts people's GPA so would love to skip it with my current english classes.</p>

<p>(I didn’t know this after I transferred) but you can petition to have it count for Writing the Essay. Go through your papers and find a) a copy of the syllabus from the writing class and b) at least two GRADED and edited writing samples. Call someone at Stern and see who you need to talk to about your credit evaluation. If you have writing samples, it’s easier to argue your case. Don’t give up! They should count it. </p>
