(Question) Community College Student looking to transfer to UCI with TAG

Hello, I am a freshman looking to transfer to UCI with the TAG program. I know UCI’s curriculum for the TAG program is 30 UC transferrable units prior to applying this September for the Fall 2017 in order to be eligible for TAG.
With that in mind, after this summer session at my community college, I’ll have exactly 29 units, 1 unit short. However, I did score a 3 on my AP Biology test in high school 2 years ago.
My question is, will I have to take an extra summer class this year to fulfill the one unit I’m short of to complete 30 semester units prior to applying? Or will UCI count my AP Biology score as any sort of units just to get over the 30 units to apply?

(I know under the UCI admissions website in the TAG section, it lists that it’s 30 semester UC transferrable units including AP/IB classes, but I just want to confirm if they will count my AP score for Biology considering I’m applying to become a CS major.)

I am a prospective Computer Science major looking to apply to UCI for the Fall 2017 Admission.

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

http://www.admissions.uci.edu/applicants/tag.html says (emphasis added):

http://www.admissions.uci.edu/applicants/ap_exams.html indicates that, for UCI purposes, a 3 on AP biology is worth 8 quarter units or 5.3 semester units, assuming that you have not taken duplicating courses (i.e. general biology in college).

If you are still not sure, ask directly.

Thanks a lot for the reply, I have not taken any biology courses in college. Sorry, just been really paranoid because I’m one unit away not including the AP course and I don’t want to have to stay an extra year because of one unit haha. Thanks again.

Okay thanks
