So I recently got an email from a college saying they got my contact through Horatio Alger and congratulating me. What does this mean? I know results don’t come out until january but does this mean I could potentially win something?
My foster son won State level Alger in 2015.
Nothing like this happened to him.
He was notified in mid January as I recall.

Did anyone receive an email notifying them of their SemiFinalist status?
I got a similar email, @MangoLover11223, saying that they had received my name. I’m assuming that it’s just a database transfer, not a notification of potentially winning.
Where did you hear that they don’t notify until January? And do you know if it’s through phone or email?

Me too! I was so anxious because I was waiting for that email. @dreamreacher2019 I don’t think we’re guaranteed to win anything, but it means that we have a good chance. National winners will find out in January and state winners will find out later on. Good luck though!

Well, no call today so far … last year’s thread said the calls came on Jan. 3. I guess maybe this one isn’t for DD.
