Question for Canadians!!

My school offers IB, but i took only partial IB for Math, Chem, and Physics.

Do universities in the states still acknowledg partial IB?

You just obliviated your chances. Sorry.

(I'm too lazy to explain why to you right now, so just take my word for it)

my school does not offer anything except some 5 ap courses

then I would try to take all those AP classes

I only have 1 AP.... we can take at most 2 AP in my school but I didnt make the other one.......

Is IB/AP really that big a deal?

I went to a public high school in Ontario - no IB, no AP and no needless astronomical fees. I have been accepted to Columbia and Penn.

but thats probably because you didn't have the opportunity to take advantage of those courses.
there was nothing you could do about it, whereas those of us in highschools with AP, had to take some of them because of the need to take the most challenging courses available.

jenok89,

To reply to your question, no universities do not really acknowledge partial IB. The reason why IB is regarded so highly is because of all the extracurricular activities (CAS) and extended essay that one has to do on top of the rigorous coursework. By just taking three IB courses, you may be portraying yourself as a lazy person who does not try to challenge oneself.
