<p>I was just curious why you chose Hopkins over other schools. There are other schools that are easier to get into, but ranked higher up (e.g. University of Maryland: College Park). So what made the decision for you?</p>
<p>I have a friend who got into Maryland but went to Hopkins because he applied here early, so he didn’t really have much of a choice.</p>
<p>Does anyone have any POSITIVE answers? Not “I had to”</p>
<p>My son chose it over some other colleges (some of which were large state U’s) mainly because he visited and liked the students he met and liked the feel of the university as a whole. He’s been very happy, but probably would have been happy elsewhere too… there are plenty of good CS departments to choose among.</p>
<p>I think the size of the department is hard to beat.</p>
