Hi Everyone! I am applying to Pepperdine for Spring 2008! (Keep your fingers crossed) :) I am curious to know how difficult the classes are. Don't get me wrong I am a hard working student and not looking for an easy ride through school but after looking on Ratemyprofessors.com I saw a lot of the professors were rated extremely difficult or poorly! Any advice? or experience? Thanks!

Hi. I am a current senior who transferred to Pepperdine. I have been there for 1 1/2 years and I can say firsthand that there are some amazing teachers here. Concerning teacher difficulty, I would say that generally, students say Pepperdine is hard when first entering their freshman year.

As a transfer student who came in my junior year, my experience was the same. Teachers do demand the best out of you and this consequentially results in many hours being spent in the library/dorm studying. Library is open till 3 and 24 hr during finals, so your resources are always available.

Looking back, I would say that I have had about 4-5 teachers who very difficult. But it is nothing you cannot handle. Be smart by continually checking www.ratemyprofessors.com and asking friends.

I would also like to mention that you should study abroad. Over 60% of students study abroad and from my experience in Hong Kong - it is was the best experience I had. Also, many advances have and will continue to be made at Pepperdine. All I can say is that it is a good school to invest in as they are in the process of doubling their endowment and enacting creative joint-degree programs with the various grad schools.

I wish you the best. Let me know if you have any questions. I am more than willing to help. Just send me a line. – pep.business@gmail.com

Blessings

Thank you so much for your advice. I appreciate it!
