im planning on transferring to a UC and major in engineering and i have to take math all the way to linear algebra and differential equations. my question is, will the UCs accept if i take multiv calc and differential equations in different community college or do i have to finish the sequence at the same school?

Your best bet is to check assist.org.

I'd say as long as the courses are articulated at the college you are planning to take differential equations or linear algebra, you'll be fine.

However, with the multi v calc, generally the calc is done in a series like Math1A-Math1D, which means its in a series, moreso than diff eq and lin. algebra.

If you go to assist.org, you can check out if the school you want to apply to accepts each course individually, or in "pairs." for instance, berkeley accepts math classes like Math 1A at berkeley = Math 1A + Math 1B at community college, which means its not advisable to take multi v calc at a different school unless it must be done.

Call up the schools as well and check what they think, I don't think it will be MUCH of an issue. (I did this with chemistry and they said it wasnt that bad of a problem.)
