question for harvard alum interviewers

hello.

i have an interview coming up, and i was wondering what information harvard admissions provides interviewers about the candidates prior to the interview. are they only given my name and contact information? do they have access to my application materials?

just want to make sure i am well-prepared for any curveballs.

thank you!

I’m a student, but to my understanding the interviewers don’t know anything about you beyond your basic information (name, phone number, etc, some schools give a little more info on the high school, country… ).

Also a student, but that is exactly what my interviewer told me.

Does anyone know why my interviewer was switched the day after one was assigned?

I haven’t interviewed for a few years, but I used to get only an applicant’s name, contact information and school. (At least, that’s all I remember getting.)

As for why your interviewer was switched, I can’t imagine it’s important. I asked to be switched once, when I was assigned to interview the son of the people who sold us our current house. Most likely, either the first interviewer has some connection to you or your family that you don’t know about, or something going on in his or her own family that makes it necessary to reassign you. But I’m quite sure it has nothing to do with your application or your prospects.

Yeah that makes sense. The interviewer apparently wasn’t aware that the interviewer had changed, which was strange though.
