Question for those applying for financial aid

<p>I was just wondering if anyone has received their EFC from SSS yet? If so, was the amount what you expected?</p>

<p>We just got ours the other day and I am very pleased with the amount. I currently pay about $4700 for my D's private christian school and it really stretches our budget. Our EFC was about $3800. If the schools base our financial aid on this amount we're looking at 80% or more financial aid (applying to private day middle schools in CA, average tuition about $22k). I sure hope she gets into at least one or two of the five schools to which she is applying.</p>

<p>MSHopeful, are you paying tuition for more than one kid? I head the SSS would divide your total EFC by the number of kids going to tuition charging schools. Wonder if it is true.</p>

<p>Benley ~ I am only paying for one child for next school year. But I have also heard they will split it. My 3 1/2 year old will start K in 2011 and we may try to get her into private school, so next year I will know for sure if this is true!</p>
