Does Upenn have it set up where you dive right into your major or spend time trying out different things?

I don’t think so. I believe that most people freshman year try to fulfill gen ed requirements. Only during your sophomore year can you declare a major. However, you can definitely take classes that are tailored to your intended major. I know some people are taking classes that are geared towards their major, but also fulfills sector/graduation requirements.

We have general requirements in the College that suck up a bit of your semesters but you can double count them towards the two sets of them and your major. You can take entry level courses in different majors as soon as you’d like, although some may be easier when you’ve taken another intro course like math or stats or something like that at the 100 level.
