Has anyone else noted this on the Amherst supplement? When you type the info in, it says: "Mailing Address (from (date) to (date) )". My son figured this meant the dates we have lived at our current address, so he typed in 4/1996 to 11/2012 (ie present date). He submitted it last night. However, he is worried because the Final Print PDF adds the word "use", ie "Mailing Address (use from 04/1996 to 11/2012"). Will the college think that they can only use his mailing address up until 11/2012? What else would you put for the 2nd date? Why would they ask what dates to "use" a student's address from?

Can’t you leave the date blank?

Thanks, reeinaz. Perhaps you could leave it blank, although I thought they wanted students to answer all questions. However, my son has submitted it already, so that’s not an option. Has anyone else done the Amherst supplement and come across this?

I think it will be fine since your mailing and residence addresses are the same. The mail has to go somewhere. My assumption is that the dates are there for students that are in boarding school and such or transfer students curently at a college. Their mailing address while in school is different than when they are home on breaks.

Maybe that is the case- hope so. Thanks a lot!
