question on biology major?

I know that in order to graduate from Rice, one must have 120 credits. How many credits does one need in order to complete biological sciences? Thanks!

A biological sciences major requires a minimum 126 credit hours, including 60 credit hours taken outside the major. You should be able to find more information here …

Thanks love4medicine! I Appreciate the info! How does going through a double major work? Are classes allowed to overlap for the different majors (i.e. If I wanted to double major in biological sciences and chemistry?) Thanks again!

Yes. The only caveat is that you need 150 Total credits to get a double major. The 60 credits outside the BioChem major can be applied to Chemistry classes. The basic science courses and organic chem etc. will apply to both.

Sometimes even higher level classes can count for both majors. This is entirely up to the discretion of the department. You can always ask whether a class that is related to both fields will count towards your in-major electables.

Thanks Antarius!
