Question on Essay Questions!

I was wondering what happens if I go over the word limit in the essay questions? For example, one of the questions has a 250 word limit and I wrote ~400. Another the limit was 100 and I wrote ~120. Will my response be cut off, will the admissions officers not read past 250, or will they read it and just be annoyed? For me, 250 words/100 words was not enough to convey my idea.

Any responses appreciated! :)

I think they’ll be cut off. They want a clear but succinct answer. You should be able to convey your idea this way. If not then convey a different idea.

Going 20 words over the limit is a bad idea. Going 150 over is an even worse idea…

From my experience, it displays an error message in red at the top and asks you to shorten it.
