question on one essay in BU supplement

for the BU supplement, one essay says this....Short Essay: In a few sentences, please tell us why BU is a good fit for you and what specifically has led you to apply for admission?

now does this literally mean in a few sentences like a paragraph? or a short essay as it claims to be?

so far i wrote something down and tried to keep it "in a few sentences" but....it doesnt seem like a short essay at all.....im confused lol

I would probably say something like 250~300 words or around 10 sentences.

At first glance, it’s an easy open-ended prompt - BUT IT’S A TRAP!!!

I think it was Mark Twain that said, “I wrote you a long letter - I didn’t have time to shorten it.”

So, if you can explain in two sentences, do it.

Good luck, and don’t obsess. You’ll get in somewhere, and that’s the key.

what do you mean its a trap?

that short?? (not literally but figuratively) can it really be shorter than a paragraph? if so thats really interesting…

Well it gives you 750 characters, so that’s like a paragraph?

You can pull up the amount of characters on word. It’s 750 words which is a short paragraph at best.

I visited BU a few weeks ago, and they said that it should be literally a few sentences. Not a short essay, but just a couple sentences.

the space allowed limits you to 750 characters - which is approx 175 words. you can write a paragraph.

hey, i don’t know if anyone’s applying to the accelerated programs, but it says they’re due December 1st, so does anyone know if that’s tomorrow 11:59 PM, or tonight 11:59 PM? thanks!

I’m turning in my application for the scholarship deadline (Dec 1, also) and I’m 99% sure that the application is due on Dec 1st 11.59 PM. It’s worked so far for my other EA apps. (: Although, if you might want to turn it in by 11.59 PM Eastern time…
