there are pre-law,pre-med,pre-pharm,pre-business etc etc....
so my question is... are these "pre-xxx" courses the name of an actual course that is completely dedicated to the "xxx"? And in order to apply to these med school or pharm school you need these required courses right? Does every school offer these required courses? Also does it matter what you major in?

I think it only applies to Pre-Med and Pre-Pharm becuase of the knowledge needed for Med School and Pharmacy. Pre-Law and Pre-Business usually refer to the counseling you get from the college so that one improves their applications for law school and MBA programs.

so do everyone school offer these pre-xxx courses? or are there certain schools that offer certain pre-xxx s

"pre-XXX" USUALLY refers to students who are taking an informal list of courses that can help prepare them to get into whatever professional "XXX" school they're looking for. but even this definition varies...

for pre-meds, students usually major in one of the sciences because many of the classes in those majors will show up in the MCAT and would be good knowledge for medical school anyway. some of these include biology, chemistry, physiology, etc etc. but "pre-med" is not limited to science majors. you can major in ANYTHING and be pre-med (although it is recommended that you take electives in at least the subjects that are tested on the MCAT). according to one of my professors, ENGLISH is the 2nd most popular pre-med major, after biochemistry.

for pre-law, it is even more varied. basically, there is no pre-law major! you can major in basically anything for law school, although many choose to major in a social science or humanities major to better prepare themselves for the writing, etc. some popular ones include political science, history, english, etc. but again, any major works, even engineering (hey, there's patent law too).

the only one that u listed that actually has a set undergrad major is business. actually i dont think there's such thing as "pre-business" because you don't HAVE to go to business school to enter the business field (while law, medicine, etc. requires you to go to their respective professional school). you can just major in business administration or economics as an undergrad and enter into the business field.

so every schools offer these courses for pre-xxx? or only certain schools?
