Question on the Cornell Supplement App

Hi,

One of the essay questions on Cornell's Supplement Application is this:

Consider the academic program in the school you indicated above. How will you utilize them to further your intended major or field of interest, or general academic interests if you’re undecided?

When they ask "how will you ....", does this mean they don't want you to write abotu what you have done, but write about what you will do?? I dont get it.

Write about how Cornell will help you pursue your academic goals.

yes. and i noted the tense of the question, so i wrote it as though I would be accepted lol. Confidence or arrogance? But yes, you are right Agro. The point is to make sure you want to attend, that you are interested, etc. I looked through the course catalog and found interesting courses that combined some of the interests I discussed in my first supplement essay.

oh, I thought they meant the highschool I am currenty attending

Thanks for clearing things up

stupid wording

no. first, i think it's college/school indicated above, and it means CALS/CAS/Hotel school etc.

no room for creativity

"no room for creativity"

I beg to differ. My supplement essays were highly stylized and fluid. I took great pains to write pleasing and informative supp essays, and I was accepted.
