Question Re: New SAT policy for class of '10

Okay, I have a question regarding the new SAT score policy of allowing students to choose which scores they want sent to colleges. When does this take effect? If I were to take Lit and Chem in October and got a score I didn't like, would I be able to not send it? I am in the class of 2010.

if you are in the class of 2010, any tests you take including the ones you have taken in the past are affected by the new policy
so if you take lit and chem in october you don't have to send them

i got the feeling that it onli applied for the reasoning test. r u guys sure?

They send reasoning scores together with subject scores, and they're handled through the same interface, so it would make sense if the policy will give control over sending subject tests. Then again, it might only allow you to choose your highest score on a test, so you might not be able to eliminate it completely. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just take the tests you need and do you're best on them and you'll be fine.

what if my schools gay and puts it on our transcripts anyways?

^Then talk to your school. It's not CB's problem.

OP: No, you aren't required to send them.

the first time this law is implemented is March 2009 administration.

^Verify???

oh thank God...

so my terrible Chemistry score doesn't have to be seen by the colleges?

"Any student who has taken an SAT prior to the policy launch or who registers for the SAT after launch will be able to take advantage of this new policy. The students who have taken tests prior to the launch can use the score-reporting feature retroactively."

New SAT Score-Reporting Policy

verified, its in the first paragraph towards the end

this new score-reporting feature will launch in early February 2009, and will therefore be available to students participating in the March 2009 test administration.

stl2cali2k1, your horrible chem score will still be sent.

No, anhtimmy, read the first sentence of the next paragraph.

As teenage_cliche quoted:

Any student who has taken an SAT prior to the policy launch...will be able to take advantage of this new policy. The students who have taken tests prior to the launch can use the score-reporting feature retroactively.

The new policy applies to all class of 2010 scores, whether taken before March 2009 or not.

so my horrible chem score won't be sent, correct?
