I just received a letter that states I've been invited to join the NSHSS (National Society of High School Scholars). I really don't know if this is legit or what... any comment would be appreciated

If it costs you $$ to join,ignore it.
its a scam and of no use to you.

search NSHSS or “National Academy of Future Physicians” or “National Young Leaders Conference” on this site.

Or read this:
<a href=“Congratulations! You Are Nominated. It’s an Honor. (It’s a Sales Pitch.) - The New York Times”>Congratulations! You Are Nominated. It’s an Honor. (It’s a Sales Pitch.) - The New York Times;

Read about how they release “Press Releases” to local news outlets of their “scholars”.

Or google the founder: Ricard Rossi of Envision EMI.

You’ll vomit in your mouth.

NSHSS is a legit society but you do have to pay a one time fee to join. Both my sons joined and there are many benefits including scholarship information, possible internships and leadership meetings. I would check out their website: nshss.org

Gumby, if I may – have you investigated how much they paid out in scholarships vs. how much they took in for revenue from memberships?

Envision lost its non-profit status in 2006. Google how much Rossi and his kin earn from the organization and compare it to the benefits its members receive.

T26E4: No I didn’t investigate how much they paid out in scholarships vs membership fees? My sons accepted the membership to supposedly enhance their applications vs. their scholarship chances (sorry to say). Thank you for the information and I am usually pretty diligent about checking out these offers. LIVE and LEARN
