<p>If you have been treated in a psychiatric hospital for suicide/depression/etc, can medical schools find out when you apply? I know there are HIPAA laws but would that student be protected?</p>
<p>The student has since then been in treatment and healthy.</p>
<p>Hard to imagine how the medical school would know. Does the undergrad college know? At least one could then construct a method by which the medical school could be told. Completely illegal, but at least a link between the student and the medical record.</p>
