Does composing orchestral music on my own time count as an "Extracurricular Activity"? I don't do it in conjunction with any school programs, but writing music for orchestral ensembles (as well as jazz and rock ensembles) seems analogous to their given example of "first chair of high school symphony orchestra".

So no one has any opinion about this?

Do you have other music activities? You might want to group this other activities under music.

Nope, I have absolutely zero participation in music programs at school. But I compose music all the time in my bedroom...

Sounds like a hobby to me. I wouldn't put it on there.

Do you play any instrument? It does not have to be school related.

^ I play guitar. But really, I'm a better composer than I am a guitarist. And I'd think composing orchestral music would be more "college-application-worthy" than playing guitar. o.O

^^ Ah, fair enough. I guess I'm just bummed that the exact same activity would easily qualify if only I did it at school instead on my own. It's just that, I've spent like 170 hours writing and recording music, 335 hours playing piano, and 2,380 hours playing guitar, and I guess none of it counts because I did it all on my own time. >_<

Being antisocial doesn't pay off. :(

word. Unless you're studying.
