Question regarding ortho

I was just curious as to whether pediatric ortho. was a completely different sub-specialty than regular ortho. If so, what are some of the differences in the path to each of these careers?

thanks,

Peds ortho is a 2 year fellowship (might be one) after completion of your general ortho residency. Other ortho fellowships include sports med, spine, foot/ankle, hand/wrist, and a couple others I think.

Yeah, its one year. Here is the complete list of fellowships.

Adult Reconstructive Orthopaedics
Foot and Ankle Orthopaedics (has turf wars with podiatrist)
Hand Surgery
Musculoskeletal Oncology
Orthopaedic Sports Medicine
Orthopaedic Surgery of the Spine
