Question Regarding Principal Nomination

My Daughter was just notified she would be receiving a Principal Nomination from our Congressman. She is a freshman in college and in the NROTC program at her college. Does this mean she will get an offer?

If she is scholastically qualified, passes PRT, and is DoDMERB ship-shape …yes. Sounds like a hearty congrats is in order! Keep her healthy, of good moral and academic stature, and in shape. The Iday cometh!

^^^You are a nuisance on this forum. Have you read the First Amendment of the United States Constitution–hint, hint, the part about Freedom of Religion? Religious affiliation is NOT a consideration for receiving an appointment to the service academies in the United States of America. In fact, the Naval Academy has the Levy Center for Jewish midshipmen; Muslims, Buddhists, agnostics, Hindus, and Christians make up the Brigade of Midshipmen. Personally, we’re Lutheran, but celebrate the freedoms of our Constitution and federal law.

^^^^ Thank you for letting us know that you celebrate the freedoms of our constitution and federal law. Lighten up, usna09mom!

Proselytizing on a service academy forum to prospective candidates and their parents is just bad form. Don’t send a message (either implied or implicit) that adhering to a specific religion (or any religion at all) is preferable to gain an appointment or success in the military.
