Question regarding receving e-mails from college admission offices

<p>Just wondering... Is there anything special about receiving emails and mails from universities through the Collegeboard student search service? </p>

<p>I don't think one should stand unique (yet some of those mails do congratulate my SAT score) to receive the e-mails, but I'm just asking to make sure.</p>

<p>My guess is that some Universities send blanket emails to people who scored above some arbitrarily selected score. That's one of the ways they determine where to mail brochures...</p>
