I would like to know if there is any sort of registration required for stern scholars, i was sent all the mail and invitations to the program, but never registered specifically for the program, is that required? or am i automatically in if they invited me

Yeah...freshman scholars are determined by the office of admissions based pretty much solely on statistics...you're in if you decide to go to stern

Does anyone know how much scholars helps for recruitment for internships and jobs after graduation?

Scholars is a great thing and they send you on free trips abroad during spring break every year. They are good on the resume and give lots of free food. However its hard to stay in scholars.

Even though you are in you still have to register, and that means writing an essay.

"Even though you are in you still have to register, and that means writing an essay."

when would we have to write this essay and/or when are we told about this.

I didn't write an essay to register for scholars (I came in as a freshman), though the policy may have changed. I vaguely recall a letter sent out in the summer that basically told us to fill out a form and mail it back to Stern saying that we wanted to be part of Scholars. Otherwise, they'll give you the scholarship, but you don't get to actually be part of the organization.

My advice: call Stern's student life office.

I had to write an essay, you should check the letter you got about scholars and reply back to them.

I didn't know that there is a scholarship associated with this program...I got the Stern scholarship, but I thought that it was a separate thing because you can get that without being in scholars. Do you mean that there is another scholarship that you get once you register or do you mean that if you are in scholars, then you definitely get a scholarship???

No, I'm sorry if I confused you - what you got in your financial aid package is what you're getting. I just wanted to make clear that your scholarship is NOT conditional on whether you accept the invitation to Scholars or not.

This means you will get your scholarship no matter what; on the flip side, you will NOT get any extra $$ later just because you accept the invitation.

I was invited to Stern Scholars, but I never got a form that I had to send back? If I have to RSVP for the invitation, that must be pretty important. Anybody got any info about this?

i hvaent recieved any welcome to stern info or any scholars info so i have no clue whats going on, i like how we are left to figure out most of it on our own though

im in the same boat as you guys, i have received 0 information about it...
