I have been accepted to 4 Universities as OOS so far with 2 offering academic scholarships up to $6,000.

The 2 schools that I want to attend have not offered anything as of yet, not sure if they will as they are much larger universities. Is it common place to go back to Admissions and inform them you have acceptance at other schools with scholarship offers and see if anything could be offered.

Thanks

When you have received all of your acceptances and financial aid offers put them on the table, and consider what your actual costs of attendance would be at each institution. Include transportation costs, new wardrobe because of a different climate, textbooks and materials, and personal expenses. Carefully examine the aid packages. How much is scholarship, loan, and workstudy? Are the scholarships renewable for four years? Are there any strings attached such as a minimum GPA?

If after considering everything, you find that CollegeA has awarded you a more favorable package than CollegeB, but you know that you’d really prefer to attend CollegeB, AND you have reasonable evidence that CollegeB considers CollegeA to be a peer institution, then and only then would it be worth your while to contact CollegeB and ask them if they could possibly reconsider your aid package. This does not always result in an improved package. Lots of institutions will not review aid at all.
