question to bio majors about failing chem 1a

If I failed Chem 1A, can I continue with the chem sequence and still take Chem 1B winter quarter and retake Chem 1A over the summer? Or will I have to retake Chem 1A this winter quarter?

You could only take Chem 1B under special circumstances ie, you broke your writing arm or something… so just repeat it.

If you got a D or below, then you have to retake Chem 1A in the Winter if you want to move on. However, if you got a C-, you can move on to Chem 1B in the winter, however, if you care about your GPA you should retake it in the summer.

sorry buddy, but chem 1a is the easiest chem class you will ever take at uci and if you can’t even pass it, then maybe you should consider switching majors…

Oh stop being mean. I’m sure he didn’t come for someone else’s advice about switching majors. He just wants to know when he has to retake the class.

To the OP: Don’t give up!

My friend got a D and still continued. But I heard they were being more strict this year and kick you out of major after failing 97 or 98? intense.
