Question to current Comm students

I am sure all of you have already taken a look at the new COD for fall 2008. Well, on this page here ( Program: Degree Requirements - School of Commerce - University of Virginia - acalog ACMS™ ) it says that COMM 341 Commercial Law I can be taken prior to entering Comm School. My question is, do people do that actually and are there a good number of second years in the course? In the COD it doesn't say anything about restrictions so I assume I can take it. Just wondering if it's not too big of a jump for me. Thanks!

Hmm, I tried to take it last semester but saw that it had been limited to Comm school only. Try looking it up on the COD and see if it is? Otherwise I think few second years do so, and that it's mostly filled with third and fourth years. That's been my experience when I visited the class to wait for friends in the past.

There's nothing written underneath the course in the COD, but it still is a Comm School class. Did you try through ISIS to get in?

Yes, you can still take COMM341 if you're not in the comm school, although preference will be given to comm schoolers. Talk to John Wheeler the first day of class, and email him to indicate your interest. Stick with the class and don't give up trying, because eventually students will drop out of the class before the drop deadline and there will be space.

BGjeez - indeed, and got that merry little red all caps message saying I don't fulfill restrictions. Pshht!
