How many students were in your statics-mechanics of materials class? Would you happen to know approximately how many students are in the upper-division civil engineering classes?

There were around 150 students. It didn’t matter because the teacher was good and you could pretty much learn from the book too. The lectures for the general required upper division classes are around 75-120 students. Some have separate lab sections with 15-20 students. I think the more specific track courses are smaller.

I had friends from UF engineering go to MIT, Stanford and Berkeley for graduate school. I didn’t apply to the aforementioned universities, but I got into Tech on a fellowship thanks to the resources UF provided me.
