Question Transfer Credits

I have a question about college now credits. Unfortunately I'm a Sophomore now. I didn't know until this semester that Stony Brook does take College Now credits until one of my freshman friend (we went to high school and took the same college now course together) told me she got her credits transferred. Now the problem is, I did request my Sociology 105 equivalence transfer like the beginning of February this year, however my Solar degree progress still didn't have it on the list yet. (I supposed give it another month?)

Another problem is, freshman year first semester I already took a Soc 105 course (that's what the advisor gave me), but didn't do as well as the one I took in College Now. And I read the FAQs in the transfer credit page about how I can't take it over if I already have the credit unless it's not passing. The thing is, my grades didn't get transferred and I didn't know it could be transferred until now. Does the transfer office still put the college now credit into consideration? or list it on my transcript?

Eva- you'll want to stop into the Transfer Office next time you're in the Administration Building (Room 134, on the ground floor, down the hall from Financial Aid) and talk to them. If you've already taken the course, then you can't get credit for the same course via transfer, regardless of your grade.

Transfer credits, whether they're As or Cs, show up on your Stony Brook transcript as a "T." They don't count in your GPA. It's probably a question you should have asked at Orientation, but there's not much you can do about it now. Like I said, though, stop by the Transfer Office when you get a chance, and they'll let you know.
