If you are not going to attend JMU but were accepted, what do you send to them, or how do you let them know that you are declining their offer? I had nothing in my envelope to send back like other colleges.

Im in the same boat, I am probably gonna do nothing and hope they get the picture, unless there is a more proper way of doing it.

the old-fashioned way! write them a note!

I believe if there are no official instructions, the fact that you do not send a deposit to secure your spot is the way they know you are not coming... however a note is always nice... and may help people who are are on the waitlist know sooner... although waitlist decisions may still wait until afer May 1st... I am not sure. I would suggest contacting admissions.

There may be programs that are different, however. For example... I teach in the Musical Theatre Concentration, and we email students directly and ask them to send us an email or call us to let us know whether or not they are accepting our offer to join the MT Concentration in the fall. This helps us make plans for class size, and know as soon as possible whether we will be in a position to extend offers to other students who may have auditioned for the concentration.
