So I was really lazy and tired this morning, so I did an option change and took off the Writing section. I asked the proctors if I would have to send my entire previous score for colleges to see my writing and they didn't know. Can writing be sent separately or do I have to send my previous test composite score as well??

Not that it would really matter, they only use your highest score for admission right?

^yes they use the highest score but many colleges require that it be PLUS WRITING

I did take the writing section twice and got the same score twice. I saw no point in taking it a third time.

You’re saying that they will totally disregard my score if it doesn’t have the writing portion attached, even though I got good writing scores twice?

^
Yes, they will not count the score unless it has writing.

What were you thinking?

Well, I looked at some of the colleges I want to apply to and I think it’s alright. But still… What was I thinking? I was thinking that my friend did this and it was fine for her, so why would it matter for me?

I’m just going to contact ACT.

I guess I have to wait for tomorrow. Anyone else know for sure??

I’m worried now. Although, I know I’m going to have to retake it again anyway. That’s just my luck.

Thats not true at all. Most colleges will NOT disregard the score that doesnt have the writing with it. My school GC who is great at getting kids into top 20 schools suggests taking the writing once (as long as you score 10+) and then just taking the ACT w/o the writing later. In my and her opinion, colleges just want to see how you write under pressure and in a given amount of time. ANYONE who tells you colleges will COMPLETELY disregard your ACT scores when you do not take the writing are being overly paranoid.

Oh wow. Thank god then. Hopefully I did well then, I don’t want to take it a 4th time. I got 10 twice, so I was hoping it would be alright if I didn’t take it a 3rd time. I really doubted that I would get something other than a 10.

But if I didn’t do well, I’m taking the writing again to be safe.
