Question

Hi

I haven't received my notification letter yet, so I am assuming that I did not get it. Does that mean I am rejected by the college or just the scholarship? I applied RD

at this point, it’s a bit early to assume you are not a johnson scholarship finalist. where do you live? in either case you will receive a letter within the next few days stating whether you are a finalist or not. even if you are not a finalist, this does not mean you are rejected from W&L, just that you didn’t qualify for the finalist round of the scholarship. competition was apparently fierce.

good luck!

^ According to the W&L admissions blog, they were going to notify all the applicants, whether the news was good or bad. If you haven’t received any letter, it must mean that it’s still in the mail. So I wouldn’t assume anything just yet. Also, not being named a finalist doesn’t automatically mean that you’re rejected by the college. Good luck!

my letter just came today, so i’m sure there are a lot still in the mail

Well, we are still waiting with everything we have crossed. It’s awful when it’s his dream college and if he doesn’t get the JS (I’m thinking surely must have been on the cusp :)…he won’t be able to go…UGH! Please Mr. Postman… Keep your fingers crossed for those of us who haven’t received either letter!

We have not heard in our household either. Although we are cautiously optimistic, I am sorry for those who loved the school as much as we did and have not received positive news yet. Lets keep the hope alive!

Just a note to consider-D’s letter for ED1 took 10 days to get to us. Even allowing for the snowstorm and holiday closure, that was a long journey–albeit worth the wait. I just don’t think that you can interpret one way or another until your letter arrives. I have not seen any posts from west of MI/WI/TX. Today’s mail brought no news to us–so I am watching CA closely b/c we are a few states east of you! And no posts regarding letters with a Tuesday postmark??

Well, looks like letters reached Georgia and we have not received one. I am broken hearted for him, but alas…he will survive and we will continue to work on the right fit! Everything happens for a reason…right? Best of luck to everyone who did make the cut!
