Hi, so I just visited boston college a couple days ago from California and the tour didn’t really show me much. I had some questions I couldn’t find answers to so here it goes,
is there an area around BC, Chestnut Hill maybe, that is collegey? When we went we didn’t see any shops or restaurants around the college, the closests ones were in the city.
Also, on the tour they didn’t show us any student centers. Are there any student rect centers/unions or a gym?
I fell in love with the school, but these were really the only negatives and the tour didn’t really give us enough information. Like is there a grocery store nearby to shop at or a college pizza place to order from or this all just in downtown Boston?

1) There are several places to eat across the street from the school on Comm Ave. If you’re looking to explore a little further there are more options a short bus ride away to Newton Center or Cleveland Circle.

2) The big gym on main campus is the Plex. It’s pretty large, got plenty of basketball courts, a pool, aerobic machines, free weights, etc. Never actually been to workout there because I’m a freshman living on Newton, so I go to our local gym called Quonset Hut. It’s literally a two minute walk from my room and typically empty which is nice. Also, it’s only freshman, so if you’re worried about your bench (if you’re a guy) or something like that, most kids there are like you.

I don’t really know of any grocery stores, but there is a pizza place across the street from main campus.

I know that on Sundays, there’s a bus that goes to and from grocery stores. I don’t know the logistics since I have yet to actually utilize it. But for stuff like cereal and fruit, I’d just buy it out of the dining hall with your dining bucks.

I agree that Newton Centre, Cleveland Circle, and places in Brookline (Brookline Village and Coolidge Corner) are popular places to go. Also City Convenience right across the street has a selection of groceries and stuff if you can’t get to a grocery store right away.
