I live one mile from campus, through suburban neighborhoods with cars parked on the side of the road.

I'm thinking of biking to classes to avoid the hassle of finding parking in the designated lots. It would take me less time to bike to class and park the bike on a rack compared to battling it out for that elusive car parking space.

I did a dry run today and noticed that once I got onto campus, sidewalks were narrow and there were plenty of pedestrians.

When I get onto campus close to classes, should I get off my bike and walk it 50 meters to the rack? Is that the right thing to do or would it be perceived as weird to walk with a bike?

I'm hesitant to use the streets on campus since drivers are crazily trying to get to class and might not follow all road rules or see me. When I bike on low-speed roads I follow all rules, including stop signs, my ride is equipped with headlights, a tail light, and turn signals.

And biking on the grass doesn't seem right either since it is very nicely kept throughout campus.
