I will be taking the CHSPE in March, and I’m slightly worried and stressed about how hard the test will be. I have a couple of questions about people’s experiences with the test. Some background information about me: I’m a sophomore currently taking PreCalculus, Physics AP, and English 2A (equivalent to honors, but my teacher doesn’t teach). I’m a decent writer and I’m pretty good at math. One of my biggest flaws is probably being careless and making stupid mistakes. I generally get A’s in all of my classes.
For those who have taken the test previously, in what order should I take the different sections of the test? Also, how much time did you have remaining when you took the exam (include whether you took the entire test in one session)? I’m pretty good at english and math in general, but I can be a slow test taker.
Also, the math section of the exam supposedly covers up to Algebra 2, but I took that last year so the things I learned are not fresh in my mind. I specifically have trouble with combination/permutation problems, so for those who have taken the CHSPE before, how many combination/permutation problems were there, and what are some examples?
Last thing: Is there anything that people generally had trouble with in the test? What should I study for?
Overall, what would you rate the CHSPE on a scale between 1-10 (1 being easy, 10 being the equivalent to the SAT)? Thanks!
