Hey, everyone. I'm a junior in highschool and I'm doing some college search thingys. I thought some thoughts from insiders would be nice. ;P
What is the most popular major in JHU?? And also, I'm interested in chem/biochem area. How's JHU's chem dpartment? I know JHU is a really good school to prepare yourself for med, but I'm more interested in research than med. Is JHU still the school for me?? Final question, What do you like best/least about JHU? Thanks in advance~

The Chemistry Department is quite strong at Hopkins, as our most of our Natural Sciences programs. Why? Well, stellar research opportunities for undergraduates, excellent facilities, and numerous areas of specialization to choose from to start. As well, the strength of our interdisciplinary programs
and the emphasis on experiential learning and independent inquiry.

JHU is the nation's first research school, and to this day is considered a leader when it comes to undergraduate research across all disciplines -- and not just medicine. If you are looking to do undergraduate research, there are few places in this country that can compete with JHU in funding, opportunities, and facilities.

I am sure some of the JHU students who still check CC will answer. But to learn even more about a student perspective on JHU, read the student blogs: http://apply.jhu.edu/hi/.
