Questions about Life at Fordham

What is the student body at Fordham like?
Also, is the curriculum difficult? Profs.... are the helpful/accessible?
Lastly, what is the campus life like? Major party-type ppl?

Anyone's help on a better understanding of Fordham would be great!!

Well I'm a hs senior but i've visited the LC campus/ know a little about the Rose Hill situation. LC campus- right smack in the middle of Manhattan accessible by trains, a lot going on around you but virtually no real campus. Its a couple of buildings and there you have it. As far as NYC being your campus theres hella stuff to do. But its not like the "old-school" campus type, you have to make the most of it, meet kids from different schools that kind of thing. Rose Hill is a little bit of a different story, its in the Bronx there isn't as much to do around.. and I dont care what anyone says its far from dangerous. I think socially, RH has more to offer. But I'm applying to LC rd.. I sure hope I get in.. hope I helped a little. Probably not, but hey. lol

Fordham's student body is diverse in personality-you have strong athletics, strong arts, students from NYC and all over the world, a true socioeconomic diversity, and some pretty cosmopolitan students. The curriculum is rooted in the Core, which is rather extensive. It is generally considered a pretty rigorous set of requirements but classes are known for being small and there is a lot of support available via profs, advisors, etc. Campus life is centered around a mix of college and city life. You might be at an on campus event early one evening and be at the bars or a club later on that day. You can go hang out anywhere in the city and eat literally anything for lunch and be back on campus with your friends in one of the dining halls for dinner. Rose Hill is very different than LC but there is a lot of movement between the two campuses, which makes it possible to experience both over 4 yrs. The Jesuit tradition is what makes it different from other NYC schools. Check out the website-it is a positive influence in the kind of community the identity creates but it is not for everyone.

Thanks so much!
I'm interested in Rose Hill mostly, but all of your insight is helpful.
