questions about mccormick

so what is mccormick known for? and what's its reputation like? most of the students staying in mccormick are...? and overall what would you say about mccormick?

I want to ask the same question. I was assigned to Mc really unexpectedly, cause I thought as a rodman I would live in the alderman. Yet I found Mc pretty close to the school center and two dining halls. Still I hope to know more about it. So anybody here can help introduce something about McCormick?

McCormick has a great location and it is close to everything on the Grounds, I also heard that it is pretty loud compared to Alderman, and that makes it difficult if you want to study in your dorm

Old dorms are closer to classes and central grounds. The buildings are much older than Alderman, hall style, and the rooms are somewhat smaller than new dorms.

which buildings on mccormick are the best? besides bonnycastle and the other since they have wardrobes and nice furniture. is there a lot of partying going on? what kind of people are usually in mccormick?

Bonnycastle is really nice with the Castle in the basement, great for late night food, especially the Cyclops Burger (like a Gus burger, but better).

Dorms at UVA aren’t generally huge for parties, mainly since lots of the RAs are very strict about drinking in dorms. If you keep it quiet, then you’re generally safe, but the sounds of pong and lots of people in a room are a dead giveaway. The big downside of old dorms compared to new dorms is that there are no closet doors to take off and use as a pong table

Historically, I’d say the majority of people in old dorms were those who joined the greek system, but since we didn’t get to pick Alderman or McCormick last year, things were all jumbled up.
