Questions about my classes in high school

So I am currently enrolled in an online school because I have been struggling with really bad stomach problems for the past 2-3 years. I have always been an overachiever, and I wanted to continue this through high school. However, my stomach problems have gotten in the way of some of my goals.

I am currently a junior. I did not take any AP classes last year because my school did not offer them, and my stomach problems were the worst during my Sophomore year. This school year, I signed up for AP US History and AP Calculus, along with physics, English, Spanish, and electives (I could not take more than 2 AP classes this year because I have not taken any in the past. Also, our school does not offer Honors/Advanced classes for some reason, just normal or AP.). I am still struggling to work past my stomach issues, and am currently meeting with a doctor every other week and trying to find a schedule that works for me. Next year, I plan to take at least AP Chemistry, AP English, AP Statistics, and possibly AP Biology/Physics. Would 5-6 AP classes and good SAT/ACT scores (I scored 1430/1520 on the PSAT and am currently taking an ACT practice course) be enough for me to get into good colleges in my future? I was shooting for Vanderbilt, but Purdue is my choice for a more realistic college. I know that I need to get my stomach problems under control as well, but I am just worrying that I might not have enough AP classes to get into these schools.

If you’re worried that you haven’t taken enough AP courses, then explain why you didn’t take that many (or have your GC do it if you have those in online school). On the Common App and most other GC forms, they ask about AP limits and # of AP classes offered. Colleges want to make sure that you take the most rigorous coursework AVAILABLE. If your school doesn’t offer that many AP’s, then you shouldn’t be punished

That would be considered a very rigorous schedule indeed.
I hope you’ll feel better soon!

Thanks so much for the reply, and thanks for your kind words!

Yes, that is a very strong schedule. How are you doing in the AP’s classes this year? You would want a strong GPA on your transcript as well after junior year. In the end, your health should definitely come first. There are many good schools available. Best wishes to you!
