Questions about Oxford?

Hey guys! So I looked into Oxford, but I still have some questions, haha.

First, financial aid: I know Emory has stellar financial aid, but do Oxford students receive the same financial aid packages as those directly attending Emory? Or does Oxford have a separate financial aid department? Emory's awesome financial aid is one of the primary reasons that I'm planning on applying to Emory/Oxford, but if Emory's aid doesn't extend to Oxford students, ):

Second, social aspects: What is there to do around the Oxford area? I think I remember someone telling me that it's in Emory's old campus, but I'm not too sure what's in that vicinity. Also, are Oxford students looked down upon once they reach Emory?

On a side note, does anyone want to chance me for Emory/Oxford? Haha, sorry for slipping another chance-type question in here. :P

Merry Christmas!

Oxford has a separate financial aid department, but it follows the same policies (if you get less financial aid from Oxford, it’ll be because Oxford costs a little less).

Um… there’s not a whole lot around Oxford. Usually, people will drive/take a shuttle to the Atlanta campus, Atlanta clubs, or Georgia Tech. We do have tavern parties and such. There are some people on the Atlanta campus that have problems with Oxford kids, but no one will know you’re from Oxford unless you tell them, you can connect with other Oxford kids when you continue, and you’re going to have to deal with crazy people like that in life anyway.

You’re in good shape for Oxford as long as you come across as having legitimate interest in attending. You’re GPA is a little low for the Atlanta campus, but it’s still worth applying.

dont go there

May I ask why they have problems/what those problems may be ?

The problems are relative. Oxford is a more remote and smaller campus. For the first two years you’ll be separated from the Atlanta campus. Some students thrive in that environment, some don’t. It really depends on what you’re looking for and it’s a decision that should be weighed carefully before making a decision. Visit both campuses if you can.
