I'm STRONLY considering Rice for undergrad, but I'm not sure if I want to do the 8 year program.
1. I know it's not binding, so if I do the 8 year program, will I be able to take a gap year between premed and med school or something like that?
2. Will I still be considered for scholarships at Rice undergrad if I apply through this program?
3. How competitive is it?
4. If I don't do this 8 year program, would my chances of getting into Baylor med still increase just because of having Rice undergrad?
If you can answer these questions for me I will love you forever

Yes

Yes

The most competitive in the nation.

BCM accepts more applicants from Rice than from any other college or university, but those who are accepted would be competitive anywhere. Chances will not increase “just because of having a Rice undergrad” but will increase if you do very well at Rice, excel on the MCATs (as most Rice pre-meds do) and take advantage of the unique opportunities that Rice offers undergrads to do medically-related work and research.
