Hey! How many seminars do you guys plan to take? My proposed major is economics; however I am also interested in some seminars hold by other departments. Will it be hard to catch on without any base knowledge?

Seminars are super easy and require very little work, you can (and should) take them in departments outside your major

Thank you but I am on waitlist right now… hope that I could get in…

What exactly do seminars do? I saw a seminar for my major in the course description but i couldnt find a class for it in my planner. (ECE87)

I just get some information on the website: discussions, readings, short papers and several hours spent out of the seminar. I tried ECE87 and it showed that it did not have this class. do you remember the code correctly or do you mean another one?

hey guys

are seminars required for college requirements or graduation? or are they just for expanding our knowledge?

thanks

they aren’t required.

Seminars aren’t required, but advisors recommend them so you can sort of get a feel of college with a smaller class.

I found this.

Freshman Seminar (1)

The freshman seminar program is designed to provide new students with the opportunity to explore an intellectual topic with a faculty member in a small seminar setting. Freshman seminars are offered in all campus departments and undergraduate colleges, and topics vary from quarter to quarter. Enrollment is limited to 15 to 20 students, with preference given to entering freshmen. Prerequisite: none.

I guess they just dont have this class.

^They just aren’t offering it this quarter. They always list every class in the course descriptions, but not every class is offered every quarter.
