Questions about the FA process

I just filled out/sent in the FA SSS Form and after I sent it I noticed that the form said that the schools I listed will receive our PFS. Our daughter is not applying to any need blind schools. Does this mean that in a couple of days, all the schools she is applying to will have our FA needs in our file? Will the schools she has yet to interview with already know her FA need status?

Yes, it will probably be filed somewhere, but I think with the financial aid office, not admissions (at Exeter, those buildings are on opposite sides of the school). The admissions office will know that you are applying for aid, because you check that off on your application, but they won’t know how much. From what I gather, there’s a second round of admissions that happens at most schools after kids have been admitted by admissions, during which the fa office figures out how much aid they have to allocate. It’s a mystery how the process works from there though–how they figure out who gets aid and who gets waitlisted.
