After receiving the enrollment package, I was just wondering, which meal plan should I choose if I generally eat 1-2 times a day with snacks in between? Also, is the meal plan part of the cost for room & board in the total cost of attendance or is it separate? Thanks again guys

Since the meal plans changed this year, I can offer no guidance on which you should choose.

However, I can answer your second question: the cost of the meal plan is included in the room & board in the COA.

Is that why the cost of room and board on the chart is an estimate? Because it’s all up to the family to decide which meal plan is ideal for their child?

For guidance on which meal plan - ask on the 2017 Facebook page to get suggestions.

And yes, R&B is an estimate as not everyone chooses the same options (double vs triple can also make the amount vary).

Freshman have two meal plan options to choose from…

• Blue Unlimited Plan and $350 Declining
• 150 Pass Plan and $850 Declining

The meal plans above give you 2 ways to pay for food: the passes (formerly called “club meals”) and declining (akin to a debit card). The passes are used in the two all-you-can-eat dining halls. You swipe to get in, and you can eat as much as you desire. Danforth and Douglass dining halls have this all-you-can-eat set up. You are more likely to use declining dollars at The Commons, Starbucks, The Meliora Restaurant, and all the little caf

Thank you for the information and discussion, a couple of comments:

If I am reading the information correctly, freshmen have 3 meal plan choices:

Meloria Unlimited Plan and $500 Declining
Blue Unlimited Plan and $350 Declining
150 Pass Plan and $850 Declining

The first plan costs $108/semester more than the other 2 plans.

Also I would say that there are more than 105 possible dining days in the fall semester if classes begin Sept 3 and finals conclude Dec 22.
