I’m going to be a freshman at the University of Kansas. I want to use a different name instead of my legal name. And I figured out how to it and now my student portal and my email, all addresses me by my preferred name. My question is where else will my preferred name by shown? would it be shown on my class schedule? my financial statement? my dorm reservation? if I have a question about something, say I have a problem with my tuition and fee and I need to call their office, do I refer myself as my legal name or my preferred name so they could pull up the correct information? I couldn’t find any additional information on preferred name on the university’s website except on how to set my preferred name.
