Questions about UC App

Hi, so I took summer courses these past two summers at a different high school. However, I only took an A-G course one summer. On my app, do I say I attended the school both summers or just the one with the A-G course?
Also, I have taken the SAT twice. Am I allowed to use Score Choice when sending scores, or must I send both? I only reported my highest score on the application.

@greenbean98: I would put that you attended the other HS for both summers. List the a-g course in the proper category and list the other course in the non a-g course list category. Once accepted and enrolled, you will be expected to send both HS transcripts so you want what you have self-reported to match your transcripts.

You can use score choice for the UC’s, but they do recommend to send all SAT or ACT scores. They will use the highest SAT score in a single sitting so it is a non-issue if you send both.

@Gumbymom Thanks for the response. When inputting the summer school I attended, I need to put both the grade and academic years attended, and check the “I took summer courses after this grade” box.
So I took a course after 11th grade (2018-19 school year) at summer school. Since it was summer, on my transcript, it shows that I took it in 12th grade (19-20).
Right now I have it like this-
Grade: 11th
Academic Year: 19-20
Is this okay, even though the grade and academic year don’t match? Because I can’t check the “I took summer courses after this grade” if I put 12th grade. Thank you

The summer before Senior year 12th grade is considered 12th grade so it should go under 12th not 11th so the Academic years match.

@Gumbymom I am confused because since I did summer school, I have to check the box that says “I took summer courses after this grade.” If I put 12th grade, I am unable to check that box.

I am going off my memory regarding entering summer courses and summer courses prior to the next academic year is considered part of that academic year.

If the UC application will not accept 12th grade, put the class under 11th grade with the 2019-20 academic year since you did take the summer course in 2019 correct?

@Gumbymom Does this still apply if the non A-G course was a PE class?

You do not report PE classes on the UC application so that summer class would not apply.

@Gumbymom For one of the two summers, I only took a PE class. So when inputting high schools, should I just check off that I only attended one year (the summer with an A-G course) at the summer school?

I would then select 1 summer for the a-g course.
